Although Eddy and Eds’ shenanigans do get to be much at times, they still helped in terms of Double D’s arc, as he ultimately learns that Eddy does think of himself as a “wannabe loser” after he threatens to leave, and that he and Ed are both lost without him, leading to Double D gaining empathy for the goofballs and rejoining their group. Eddy has come up with his most ambitious scam ever. As Double D stresses over their fugitive status, Eddy comes up with a place of refuge from the cul-de-sac. I can see how it would've been more pleasant to have the kids talk the realization out with Jonny as opposed to beating him mercilessly. Rolf is one of the funniest characters in the series and yet his scenes are reduced to watching him make the journey alone. This film is my favorite.
